BENGALS RE-SIGN FREE AGENT RICH BRAHAM
The Bengals today signed C Rich Braham, last seasons starter, to a two-year contract. Braham had become an unrestricted free agent on March 2.
The Bengals now have re-signed two of the starters who contributed in 2000 to HB Corey Dillons club-record 1435 rushing yards. On March 1, LG Matt ODwyer signed with Cincinnati, declining unrestricted free agent status.
"Weve said were looking to build the continuity of our running game, " said head coach Dick LeBeau. "We want to retain the toughness we showed last year, and Richie (Braham) and Matt (ODwyer) are both deservedly known as tough players."
Braham (6-4, 305; age 30; West Virginia) will be an eighth-year player in 2001. He missed seven games last season with a knee injury, but started nine overall and played every offensive snap in the last seven games.
