JOHN GUY JOINS BILLS AS DIRECTOR OF PRO PERSONNEL

Orchard Park, NY - The Buffalo Bills today announced the hiring of John Guy as Director of Pro Personnel.

Guy had served most recently as a scout with the Cleveland Browns since 1998. Before that, he spent 26 years as an assistant coach in the NFL and in the NCAAıs Division I ranks.

"We are very pleased to welcome John to our staff," said Bills President and General Manager Tom Donahoe. "He brings a wealth of knowledge to our team with his background in the areas of coaching and scouting. John is also a high character individual who will be a good fit with our organization. We had the luxury of an expanded timetable in hiring an individual as our Director of Pro Personnel. We were not in a situation where we needed to hire someone in February. The additional time afforded us the opportunity to make sure that we hired the best person for the job and we have done so in hiring John to the position."

"Obviously, Iım very excited to be joining such a quality organization and to be working with a quality person like Tom Donahoe," said Guy. "I'm also looking forward to working with Gregg Williams, who I know has worked hard to get where he is, and Dwight Adams, whom Iıve known for 23 years. You always hope to get this type of opportunity in your career but when it comes along at exactly the right time, with the right team, and with people that know you and trust you, you have to feel very fortunate."

A native of Greensboro, NC, Guy earned a B.S. degree from North Carolina A&T in 1973 and a masterıs degree from North Carolina in 1976. He broke into the college coaching ranks with North Carolina in 1973 and spent the next 20 years coaching Division I football at UNC, Virginia Tech, Duke, Georgia Tech, Alabama, and Kentucky.

From 1992-94, Guy served as special teams coordinator with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was the defensive ends coach with the Oakland Raiders from 1995-98.
