SON-JA JONES TO RECEIVE AWARD FROM
THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ORGAN DONATION


PONTIAC, MICH. -- SON-JA JONES
, wife of veteran Detroit Lions defensive tackle JAMES JONES, will receive the Living Inspiration Award from the International Association of Organ Donation, Friday, April 6. United States Secretary of Health and Human Services TOMMY THOMPSON is featured among the speakers and award recipients at the event that will be held at the Bint Jebail Cultural Center in Dearborn (6220 Miller Road between Warren and Michigan Avenues).

Son Ja is being honored for her courage and dedication as an advocate for organ and tissue donations. She received kidney and pancreas transplants in January 2000 after a lengthy bout with ill health. Son-Ja and James are active in many community and charitable activities. Foremost among them is their advocacy for organ and tissue donations.

The International Association of Organ Donation strives to better educate and promote awareness, and attract additional organ and tissue donors especially in the Metropolitan Detroit area. The recognition banquet, Friday, will honor those persons who have advanced the organization's mission.
