2002 NFL PLAYOFF SCENARIOS

AFC

AFC playoff scenarios will be issued on Tuesday morning after tonight’s New England-Tennessee game.
 

NFC EAST DIVISION

Philadelphia has clinched the division.  The Eagles can clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with:

1)     PHI win + GB loss + TB loss.

Philadelphia can clinch a first-round bye with:

1)     PHI win + GB loss, OR

2)     PHI win + TB loss.
 

NFC NORTH DIVISION

Green Bay has clinched the division.
 

NFC SOUTH DIVISION
 

Tampa Bay has clinched a playoff berth.  The Buccaneers can clinch the division with:

1)     TB win or tie, OR

2)     NO loss or tie.

Tampa Bay can clinch a first-round bye with:

  1)   TB win + GB loss.
 

New Orleans can clinch playoff berth with:

1)     NO win + NYG loss or tie, OR

2)     NO win + ATL loss, OR

3)     NO tie + NYG loss.

 

Atlanta can clinch playoff berth with:

1)     ATL win + NYG loss or tie, OR

2)   ATL tie + NYG loss.

 

NFC WEST DIVISION

San Francisco has clinched the division.

Arizona, Carolina, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Minnesota, St. Louis, Seattle and Washington have been eliminated from playoff contention.
