NFL AUCTION ON NFL.COM OFFERS NFL DRAFT EXPERIENCE

AND EXCLUSIVE 2002 and 2001 ROOKIE COLLECTIBLES

 

NFL fans and collectors may not be selected by their favorite teams at the 2002 NFL Draft on April 20, but they can secure a once-in-a-lifetime Draft Day experience and a piece of franchise history through

NFL Auction on NFL.com. All proceeds from the online auction are donated to charities selected by the NFL and the NFL Players Association.

 

Beginning April 1, NFL Auction on NFL.com will accept bids for the most compelling and exciting NFL Draft Day experience in league history. Bidding for the exclusive package ends Wednesday, April 10.

 

The NFL Auction on NFL.com Draft Day experience features:

·         a behind-the-scenes tour of the NFL Draft set, player lounge area and player press conference room

·         2002 NFL Draft football signed by draftees in attendance – tentatively scheduled: DAVID CARR, QB, Fresno State; JOEY HARRINGTON, QB Oregon; QUENTIN JAMMER, CB, Texas, BRYANT MCKINNIE, OT, Miami (Fla.); JULIUS PEPPERS, DE, North Carolina; MIKE WILLIAMS, OT, Texas

·         ESPN football helmet signed by talents CHRIS BERMAN, RON JAWORSKI, MEL KIPER JR.,

CHRIS MORTENSEN, and others.ESPN is the exclusive television home of the 2002 NFL Draft.

·         two priority NFL Draft seats

·         a photograph at the official selection announcement podium

·         two guest passes good for lunch and dinner for special NFL guests

·         two NFL gift bags comprising of 2002 NFL Draft apparel and limited-edition pins

 

Fans may also begin bidding on Draft Day as college standouts attending the NFL Draft will sign an official NFL jersey (jersey numeral “1”) and Draft Cap identified with their new teams exclusively for NFL Auction on NFL.com. Items will be posted immediately on NFL.com once a player is selected on Draft Day (Saturday, April 20). Photos of newly drafted players signing these collectibles also will be posted on NFL.com.

 

In addition, draftees in attendance will collectively sign an authentic NFL helmet and commemorative footballs for bidding.

 

Autographed memorabilia from standout 2001 NFL rookies will be made available at NFL Auction on NFL.com as well. Featured players include the Chicago Bears’ DAVID TERRELL and ANTHONY THOMAS, the Cleveland Browns’ GERARD WARREN, LaDAINIAN TOMLINSON of the San Diego Chargers, the San Francisco 49ers’ ANDRE CARTER, and others.

 

NFL Auction on NFL.com is made possible by a joint partnership between the NFL, NFL clubs and the NFL Players Association. The 2002 NFL Draft will be held in New York City’s Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
