NFL TOPS LOCAL RATINGS IN 16 NFL MARKETS;
MAINTAINS TOP SPOT EACH WEEK IN 13 NFL CITIES
NFL games were the top-rated television program in 16 NFL cities for the television week of October 30-November 5, according to Nielsen Media Research.
In addition, NFL programming represented two of the top four shows in seven NFL cities (including San Francisco-Oakland where NFL games ranked second, third, and fourth).
For the season, NFL games have been the top-rated television program every week the local team has played in 13 NFL cities. Those cities are: Buffalo, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.
The five highest local NFL ratings for the week were: Denver, 43.6 (Broncos at Jets); Buffalo, 37.2 (Bills at Patriots); Nashville, 36.8 (MNF – Titans at Redskins); Pittsburgh, 35.1 (Steelers at Titans); and Kansas City, 34.9 (Chiefs at Raiders).
Following are the 16 NFL markets where football was the top-rated program for the week of October 30-November 5 (other NFL markets where NFL football was ranked #2 or #3 are not listed):
