Despite 21 season or series premieres, a presidential debate and baseball playoffs, NFL games were the top-rated television program in 14 NFL cities for the television week of October 9-15, according to Nielsen Media Research. In addition, NFL programming accounted for two of the top five programs in six NFL cities.
The five highest local NFL ratings for the week were: Milwaukee, 41.2 (49ers at Packers); Buffalo, 36.3 (Chargers at Bills); Kansas City 33.4 (Raiders at Chiefs); Denver, 32.2 (Browns at Broncos); and St. Louis, 32.1 (Falcons at Rams).
