What can get 131 million Americans to do the same thing on a Sunday? Only the Super Bowl. This years game attracted a U.S. audience of 131.2 million, making it the fifth most-watched program in television history. The nine most-watched shows in TV history are Super Bowls. Super Bowl XXXV earned a 40.4 national rating with a 61 share. That rating the highest of the TV season -- "wont be challenged by any other show this year," according to USA Today. Industry experts agree. "You cant buy a 39 or 40 anywhere else," says JON MANDEL of Mediacom. "Only the Super Bowl gets that number." It was the 10th consecutive year that Super Bowl earned a 40.0-plus rating And approximately 40 million women watched the Baltimore Ravens victory. "Super Bowl Sunday is as much for women as it is for men," says HEATHER PAIGE KENT, star of CBS Thats Life. |

SUPERBOWL.COM POSTS RECORD NUMBERS |
It was a site to be seen! SuperBowl.com, the NFLs official Super Bowl web site, posted record totals during the week. It achieved 17 million page views for the week, a 77 percent increase over last year. On Super Bowl Sunday, the site reached 11.5 million page views, up 49 percent from last year. SuperBowl.com attracted more than 800,000 unique visitors on Super Bowl Sunday and Monday. A total of 433,871 votes were cast in the first online most valuable player vote in sports history when fans voted in the fourth quarter for the Super Bowl MVP. |

Its results are almost as anticipated as the Super Bowl score itself. USA Todays "Ad Meter" ranks the best TV commercials of the telecast the day after the game. (Cost per 30-second spot this year was $2.3 million.) Ranked No. 6 this year was the NFLs own "SANTANA DOTSON for United Way" spot that was produced by Young & Rubicam Super Bowl Sunday annually ranks as the second-biggest day of food consumption behind only Thanksgiving, according to Korbel Research and Pace Foods. Beyond beer and pizza, the most-consumed snacks at Super Bowl parties are (more than one choice allowed): chips and salsa (56 percent), chicken wings (34), grilled or barbecued food (27.5), sandwiches (21.2) and chili (20.2). |

SB XXXV ECONOMIC IMPACT? ITS ALREADY BEEN FELT! |
It will be months before the official economic impact of Super Bowl XXXV on the Tampa community is announced (although city officials have estimated at least a $250 million impact). But talk to the small businessmen and women in the days after the game, and the impact has already been felt. A sampling: The newest attraction in Ybor City -- Tampas historic district --the Centro Ybor entertainment and retail complex, drew four times as many people as it does on a typical weekend Yellow Cab of Pinellas and Pasco Counties made 250 more calls a day than usual the Tampa Museum of Arts exhibit of pro football photographs paid off in "substantially higher attendance," said a spokesman and a Super Bowl XXXV sand sculpture in Pinellas County generated 300 TV spots worldwide from commentators using it as a backdrop producing an estimated $1 million in comparable advertising value. |
