VIKINGS WR RANDY MOSS
WINNER OF DIRECTV "NFL PLAY OF THE WEEK" AWARD
Wide receiver RANDY MOSS of the Minnesota Vikings is the winner of the DirecTV NFL Play of the Week Award for the 13th week of the 2000 season, the NFL announced today.
Moss made a spectacular catch in the back of the end zone to help the Vikings to a 27-15 win over Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.
With under a minute to play in the third quarter and the Vikings at the Cowboys’ 36-yard line, Minnesota quarterback DAUNTE CULPEPPER heaved a pass to the back of the end zone. Moss beat his man, but was positioned right at the end line. He maintained his balance, caught the pass, locked his feet and managed to drag them in bounds for the score.
The spectacular grab gave the Vikings a 27-9 lead.
"I see it every day in practice," said Culpepper. "Put it in his area and he'll come up with it."
This is Moss’ second Play of the Week Award this season. He was a co-winner in Week 8 with Culpepper when the two connected on a 39-yard fourth-quarter touchdown pass.

This is the first season of the DirecTV NFL Play of the Week Award. DirecTV will donate a total of $10,000 in the names of the weekly winners to the United Way.
