COLTS TAKE ON CHIEFS ON THURSDAY-NIGHT FOOTBALL
The Kansas City Chiefs host the Indianapolis Colts tonight on ESPN at 8:30 PM ET in a game that features a number of 2000 NFL All-Stars -- Colts QB PEYTON MANNING, RB EDGERRIN JAMES and WR MARVIN HARRISON, and Chiefs TE TONY GONZALEZ.
The game promises to be close. Three of the past four meetings between the teams have been decided by eight points or less, and the contest features the NFL’s No. 1 offense (Colts, 417.8 yards per game) and the AFC’s third-ranked offense (Chiefs, 348.8).
The matchup will also feature three current streaks – all of which could be broken tonight. Manning is 2-0 all-time against the Chiefs, Indianapolis head coach JIM MORA aims to become the first opposing coach since TOM FLORES (1982-84) to win three consecutive games in Arrowhead Stadium, and the Chiefs have never lost a Thursday-night game (4-0, three at Arrowhead).
It is the first-ever meeting between head coaches Mora and DICK VERMEIL.
