Buffalo – LB Brandon Spoon returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown and RB Travis Henry scored on a 1-yard run, rallying the Bills to a 25-24 victory. The Bills overcame an 18-point deficit in the final 30 minutes. Trailing 24-6, Buffalo’s comeback began when QB Alex Van Pelt connected with WR Peerless Price for a 7-yard touchdown with 1 second left in the first half. Van Pelt finished 20-for-29 for 277 yards in his fourth start in place of injured starter Rob Johnson.
Green Bay – Packers RB Ahman Green rushed for 125 yards, including a tie-breaking 12-yard touchdown run with three minutes left in the third quarter, as the Packers pulled into a tie for first place with Chicago in the NFC Central Division with a 17-7 victory over the Bears. Green, who carried 29 times, became the first Packer to rush for 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons since John Brockington in 1971-73. Green Bay QB Brett Favre broke in his win former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino's record by surpassing 3,000 yards passing for a record 10th straight season.
New England – RB Antowain Smith ran for two touchdowns to lead the Patriots to a 27-16 victory over the Cleveland Browns. New England forced four turnovers and Cleveland QB Tim Couch threw three interceptions. New England QB Tom Brady was 19-of-28 for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Patriots WR Terry Glenn had four catches for 67 yards.
Tampa – Buccaneers WR Keyshawn Johnson caught a 13-yard touchdown pass with 45 seconds remaining as Tampa Bay rallied for a 15-12 victory over the Lions. Johnson had 10 receptions for 101 yards, including a 15-yard catch on fourth-and-eighth to keep the game winning, 80-yard drive alive at the Detroit 13. His final catch gave him 93 for the season, a career high, for his first touchdown of the season. Buccaneers QB Brad Johnson completed 31 of 54 passes for 305 yards and two interceptions. Lions rookie QB Mike McMahon completed 11 of 25 passes for 165 yards and no interceptions in his first start at quarterback for Detroit.
Cincinnati – Jaguars QB Mark Brunell threw two touchdown passes, including an 11-yarder to Keenan McCardell early in the fourth quarter, as Jacksonville rallied for a 14-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite being sacked 8 times, Brunell completed 23-of-32 for 242 yards with one interception. The Bengals matched their franchise record with eight sacks, three of which were supplied by rookie defensive end Justin Smith.
Atlanta – Saints rookie RB Deuce McAllister threw a touchdown pass from his halfback position and broke free for a 54-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter to secure New Orleans’ victory over the Falcons. Saints QB Aaron Brooks was 20-of-30 for 279 yards. WR Joe Horn was his top receiver, catching seven passes for 138 yards. On its first possession, Atlanta drove 71 yards for a touchdown.
Dallas – Cowboys rookie QB Quincy Cater rallied his team from a 10-point deficit to a 20-13 victory, throwing for a career-best 194 yards and finishing 17-of-26 and had 9 yards rushing. WR Raghib Ismail caught 10 passes for 118 yards and RB Emmitt Smith, who had only 8 yards after 15 carries, finished with 62 yards on 22 attempts, including a season-best run of 44 yards. Giants K Morten Andersen made field goals of 41 and 35 yards to end New York's first two drives. After a punt, QB Kerry Collins drove the Giants 68 yards in three plays, capping it with a 2-yard touchdown pass to TE Marcellus Rivers early in the second quarter. Collins was 13-of-26 for 122 yards. Gaints RB Tiki Barber had 110 yards rushing on 18 carries.
St. Louis—Rams RB Marshall Faulk scored two touchdowns and QB Kurt Warner threw for two as St. Louis’ defense dominated the matchup of NFC West division leaders in a 27-14 St. Louis victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The win, coupled with the Bears' loss at Green Bay, gave St. Louis the best record in the conference (10-2). Faulk ran for a 6-yard score in the first quarter, and his 3-yard touchdown catch put the Rams ahead 21-7 at the half en route to a Rams’ season sweep of the 49ers. Faulk, who has scored five touchdowns the last two weeks, had 88 yards on 25 carries and five catches for 19 yards. Warner was 26-for-42 for 294 yards and one interception.
Philadelphia- Eagles QB Donovan McNabb passed for 221 yards and two touchdowns, and S Brian Dawkins returned a fumble 49 yards for a touchdown, leading the Eagles to a 24-14 victory. McNabb's 1-yard TD pass to TE Chad Lewis gave the Eagles a 7-0 lead 4:11 into the game. It was the first time this season Philadelphia scored on its opening possession. McNabb was 4-of-5 for 66 yards on the drive, including completions of 28 yards to RB Duce Staley and 31 to WR James Thrash. Chargers QB Doug Flutie threw for 307 yards and two TDs against the NFL's top-ranked pass defense.
Minnesota – Vikings QB Todd Bouman passed for 348 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Minnesota Vikings to a 42-24 victory over the Titans. Bouman completed 21 of 31 passes and was intercepted once, becoming the first Vikings quarterback to throw three or more touchdowns in his first NFL start. RB Michael Bennett ran for two touchdowns and had 113 yards on 16 carries. WR Randy Moss caught seven passes for 158 yards, including a 73-yard TD catch with 2:35 left. Tennessee's Steve McNair completed 25 of 33 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns for the Titans. SUNDAY LATE GAMES
Oakland – Raiders WR Time Brown ran 88 yards for a touchdown on his first punt return in three years, and DE Regan Upshaw forced Chiefs QB Trent Green’s fumble on a 2-point conversion with 1:38 left as the Raiders beat the Chiefs 28-26. Chiefs RB Priest Holmes had 277 total yards while passing the 1,000-yard rushing mark with his fifth 100-yard game. Raiders WR Jerry Rice became the first NFL receiver to amass more than 20,000 yards receiving in his career. He passed 20,000 yards on a 9-yard catch late in the second quarter and later caught an 8-yard touchdown pass, giving him an NFL-record 195 touchdowns -- 184 on receptions.
Pittsburgh – Steelers K Kris Brown connected on kicks of 38 and 20 yards in the fourth quarter to give Pittsburgh a 18-7 victory over the New York Jets. Brown also made first-half attempts of 26 and 33 yards to end drives led by QB Kordell Stewart, who was 20-of-36 for 214 yards. Steelers WR Hines Ward made 10 catches for 124 yards.
Phoenix— Redskins QB Tony Banks threw for 210 yards and a touchdown, and RB Stephen Davis rushed for 110 yards as the Redskins won for the sixth time in seven games, 20-10 over the Arizona Cardinals. Banks, who finished 19-of-26, hit TE Zeron Flemister for the score on the first play of the second quarter. Cardinals QB Jake Plummer completed 20 of 34 passes for 253 yards for a touchdown and one interception. Arizona WR David Boston caught six passes for 132 yards for Arizona, his eighth 100-yard receiving game of the season. SUNDAY NIGHT
Denver - The Denver Broncos (7-6), led by RB Terrell Davis, kept themselves in the playoff picture by defeating the Seattle Seahawks 20-7 Sunday night. Davis rushed for 109 yards on 19 carries for his seventh consecutive 100-yard rushing game against the Seahawks. Denver led 10-7 whenQB Gus Frerotte, who completed 10 of 20 attempts for 77 yards and a touchdown, replaced injured starting QB Brian Grieseearly in the second half. Denver’s defense sacked Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck five times, forced 2 interceptions and held the Seahawks to 70 yards rushing. Seattle RB Shaun Alexanderrushed for 28 yards, raising his season total to 1,009 yards, becoming the fourth player in Seahawks history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
