Each Sunday evening, the National Football League will e-mail scores, recaps and standings in order to assist you in your coverage of the 2001 regular season.  The e-mail will be sent at approximately 9:00 p.m. ET, following Sunday’s afternoon action.

Tampa – Buccaneers QB Brad Johnson completed 13 of 29 passes for 90 yards.  The Bucs did not allow a sack or commit a turnover for the second straight week and controlled field position with a solid kicking game.  Ravens QB Elvis Grbac completed 21 of 38 passes for 205 yards.  Bucs CB Ronde Barber had one of Tampa Bay’s two interceptions, giving him a franchise-record 10 this season.

Carolina – Cardinals QB Jake Plummer threw two touchdown passes to WR David Boston, including a 61-yarder.  Boston had seven catches for 127 yards.  New Cardinals K Cedric Oglesby made three field goals.

Miami – Dolphins QB Jay Fiedler threw two touchdown passes, both in the final 1:02 of the first half.  Breaking a two-game losing streak, the Dolphins became the only NFL team to make the playoffs each of the past five years.  Falcons QB Michael Vick finished 11-for-20 for 214 yards and ran for 63 yards in five carries.

New York Jets – Bills RB Shawn Bryson ran for 107 yards.  The Jets drove into Buffalo territory on all four first-half drives but trailed 7-6 at halftime.  Buffalo marched 87 yards on 11 plays in the third quarter, converting on a fourth-down play with a 21-yard pass to TE Jay Riemersma, before Bills FB Larry Centers ran in from the 5.

Detroit – Bears QB Jim Miller passed for a season-high 252 yards and two touchdowns.  Miller completed 17-of-30 passes.  Chicago WR Marty Booker caught nine passes for 115 yards to break the Bears’ single-season record with 94 receptions.  Bears RB Anthony Thomas became the third Chicago rookie to top the 1,000-yard mark, joining Beattie Feathers (1934) and Rashaan Salaam (1995).  Thomas carried 25 times for 76 yards, pushing his total to 1,023.  Lions QB Ty Detmer was 31-of-51 for 303 yards.

Tennessee – Browns QB Tim Couch threw for three touchdowns and a career-high 336 yards, completing 20-of-27 passes.  Titans RB Eddie George finished with 26 carries for 130 yards.  Browns RB Jamel White scored two touchdowns.  Titans QB Steve McNair completed his first nine passes and had a career-high 228 yards in the first half.

St. Louis – Rams RB Marshall Faulk scored four touchdowns and totaled 165 yards rushing and receiving.  Faulk is tied for first on the team career touchdown list with Eric Dickerson, who played five seasons with the Rams.  Rams QB Kurt Warner was 23-for-30 for 359 yards with four touchdowns.  Colts QB Peyton Manning and Colts RB Dominic Rhodes each scored on 1-yard runs.  Rams WR Torry Holt topped 100 yards in the first half, scoring on plays of 21 and 46 yards and setting up the first touchdown of the game with a 51-yard catch.

Jacksonville – Chiefs QB Trent Green was 26-for-35 for 294 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  Jaguars RB Stacey Mack rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.

Green Bay – Packers QB Brett Favre went 11-of-14 for 124 yards and a touchdown in the second half.  The three-time Most Valuable Player was 7-of-15 for 45 yards and a score in the opening half.  Vikings RB Michael Bennett rushed for 104 yards.

Cincinnati – In overtime, the Bengals moved 86 yards in 11 plays.  Bengals K Neil Rackers hooked a 31-yard field goal inside the right upright, giving the Bengals the victory.  Steelers QB Kordell Stewart threw three touchdown passes.

Dallas – Cowboys rookie QB Quincy Carter threw two touchdown passes and was 15-of-25 for 241 yards.  Carter also had 30 yards rushing on 10 carries.  Cowboys RB Emmitt Smith rushed for 126 yards.  Dallas WR Joey Galloway caught six passes for a career-high 146 yards for his first 100-yard game in Dallas.  San Francisco QB Jeff Garcia was 21-of-36 for 229 yards and two touchdowns.

Philadelphia – Eagles K David Akers kicked a 35-yard field goal with 7 seconds left in the game, and the Eagles clinched their first NFC East title since 1988.  Giants defensive end Michael Strahan had 3 sacks in the first half, breaking Lawrence Taylor’s team record for sacks in a season.  Strahan has 21.5 sacks – a half-sack from Mark Gastineau’s NFL mark.

Denver – Broncos QB Brian Griese was 19-of-26 for 142 yards while also rushing for a score.  Raiders QB Rich Gannon was 20-for-22 in the first half and completed six consecutive passes on the Raiders’ first drive of the second half.  Denver RB Terrell Davis passed Floyd Little to become the Broncos’ career leader in yards from scrimmage with a 34-yard run early in the second quarter.  Early in the second half, Broncos WR Rod Smith passed Ed McCaffrey’s team record of 101 catches in a season.

San Diego – Chargers K Steve Christie kicked a 36-yard field goal with 20 seconds left in regulation, tying the game.  Seahawks RB Charlie Rogers’ 64-yard kickoff return set up K Rian Lindell’s 54-yard field goal as time expired in the game, helping the Seahawks keep their playoff hopes alive.

New Orleans - The Washington Redskins (7-8), led by their defense, defeated the New Orleans Saints 40-10 Sunday night.  Washington’s defense held the Saints scoreless after the first quarter and forced turnovers on four of five consecutive drives in the second and third quarters. Redskins RB Stephen Davisrushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and RB Ki-Jana Carterrushed for 51 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 carries.
