TWO DIVISION TITLES
AT STAKE ON FINAL SUNDAY
Two division titles will
be decided this Sunday as the NFL regular season ends.
In the AFC East,
the New England Patriots can clinch their first division title since 1997
with a victory at Carolina. If the Patriots lose and the Miami Dolphins
defeat Buffalo, the Dolphins will claim their second consecutive division
crown. If both Miami and New England lose, the New York Jets clinch the
AFC East with a win at Oakland.
In the NFC Central,
Chicago wins its first division championship since 1990 with a win or tie
against Jacksonville or a Green Bay loss or tie against the New
York Giants. If the Bears lose, the Packers win the division with a
victory.
The NFC Central winner
coupled with the Patriots or Jets winning the AFC East would represent
five new division champions in 2001, with the Oakland Raiders being the
only repeater.
