RAVENS DEFEAT VIKINGS 19-3 MONDAY NIGHT;
EARN PLAYOFF BERTH

The Baltimore Ravens (10-6) clinched a playoff berth Monday night by defeating the Minnesota Vikings 19-3.  The Ravens needed to win Monday night to earn a playoff spot and responded to the must-win game led by their defense and the running of RB TERRY ALLEN.

Allen, who rushed for 2,795 yards in 4 seasons with Minnesota, ran for 133 yards on 23 carries Monday night, while the Baltimore defense forced four turnovers, held Minnesota to 179 yards in total offense and scored the only touchdown of the game on an 8-yard JAMIE SHARPER fumble return.  Baltimore’s defense also intercepted 2 passes and registered 5 sacks, four by LB PETER BOULWARE, who finished the season as the AFC sack leader with 15.

Baltimore K MATT STOVER made 4 field goals and had 13 points.
