WILLIAMS
EXCELS IN DOLPHINS' WIN OVER BEARS
The
Miami Dolphins used the second consecutive 200-yard rushing game by RB
RICKY WILLIAMS to propel them to a 27-9 victory over the Chicago Bears
Monday night.
Williams carried the ball 31 times for 216 yards, with touchdown runs of 16
and 63 yards, the longest of his career. Williams’ performance last night,
following a 228-yard rushing effort against Buffalo the week before, makes
him only the third running back in NFL history to reach the 200-yard
milestone in consecutive games (O.J. Simpson, 1973 & 1976; Earl Campbell,
1980).
In
his first start since injuring his thumb on October 13, Dolphins QB JAY
FIEDLER completed 15 of 29 attempts for 196 yards and a touchdown.
Miami improved to 6-1 with Fiedler as a starter.
With the win, Miami moved into a tie with the New England Patriots atop the
AFC East at 8-5. |
