RAMS’ WILKINS KICK SPOILS CARDINALS’ RALLY

St. Louis QB MARC BULGER improved to 6-0 as a starter when Rams K JEFF WILKINS connected on a 26-yard field goal with 20 seconds left in the game Sunday night to help the Rams overcome a furious second-half rally by the Arizona Cardinals.

Bulger completed 24 of 40 attempts for 319 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first action since November 17.  WR TORY HOLT was Bulger’s favorite target on the night, catching 7 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown.  Holt’s touchdown catch came with three seconds left in the first half and gave the Rams a 24-7 halftime lead.

The Cardinals almost staged a dramatic comeback behind QB JAKE PLUMMER, who threw for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns, both coming in the second half.  Arizona RB MARCEL SHIPP rushed for 96 yards and had 79 yards receiving, scoring 2 touchdowns on the ground and another on an 80-yard pass play.

Wilkins connected on field goal attempts of 26 and 37 yards before his game-winning kick.
