PACKERS TOP DOLPHINS FOR LEAGUE’S BEST RECORD

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Miami Dolphins 24-10 on Monday night at Lambeau Field to improve their record to a league-best 7-1.

Green Bay QB BRETT FAVRE showed no signs of a sprained left knee suffered in his last game, leading the Packers to a 24-0 advantage after three quarters.  Favre completed 16 of 25 attempts for 187 yards and a touchdown.  Packers RB AHMAN GREEN rushed 19 times for 72 yards and caught six passes for 71 yards, scoring once on the ground and again on a 23-yard screen pass from Favre.

Miami QB RAY LUCAS threw for 198 yards and ran for a touchdown in the losing effort.  Lucas’ new target, fresh-out-of-retirement CRIS CARTER, caught 3 passes for 31 yards in his Dolphins debut.

With the win, Green Bay now leads the NFC North by 4 games, while Miami’s lead in the AFC East is down to half a game.
