SEAHAWKS DEFEAT VIKINGS BEHIND ALEXANDER’S
RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE

Seattle RB SHAUN ALEXANDER scored five touchdowns in the first half of Sunday night’s game – an NFL record for a half – to lead the Seahawks to a 48-23 victory over the visiting Minnesota Vikings.

Alexander scored on runs of 2, 20, 3, and 14 yards, and added an 80-yard touchdown on a screen pass from QB TRENT DILFER as he finished with 139 yards on the ground and 92 yards receiving.  Dilfer completed 13 of 28 passes for 222 yards on the night.

With Seattle leading 17-10 with 3:13 left in the first half, Alexander scored three touchdowns in a span of 1:05.  The Seahawks added to their lead just before halftime when S REGGIE TONGUE returned an interception 46 yards for a score.
