Quarterbacks DAUNTE CULPEPPER of the Minnesota Vikings, DOUG FLUTIE of the San Diego Chargers, and TRENT GREEN of the Kansas City Chiefs are the finalists for FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on November 9-10, while running backs RUDI JOHNSON of the Cincinnati Bengals, FRED TAYLOR of the Jacksonville Jaguars and LA DAINIAN TOMLINSON of the San Diego Chargers are the finalists for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week honors, the NFL announced today.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from Tuesday morning through noon on Thursday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week.  The FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week will be announced Thursday on NFL.com and Friday in USA Today.

A closer look at the FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • Minnesota’s Daunte Culpepper completed 32 of 44 attempts for 370 yards and four touchdowns for a 118.6 passer rating in the Vikings’ 42-28 loss to San Diego.
     
  • San Diego’s Doug Flutie, in his first start of the season, completed 21 of 29 attempts for 248 yards and two touchdowns for a 121.0 passer rating, and rushed for 18 yards and two scores, in the Chargers’ 42-28 win over Minnesota.  
     
  • Kansas City’s Trent Green completed 29 of 42 attempts for 368 yards and three touchdowns for a 119.9 passer rating in the Chiefs’ 41-20 win over Cleveland.  

A closer look at the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • Cincinnati’s Rudi Johnson rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns on 43 carries in the Bengals’ 34-27 win over Houston.  Johnson’s 43 carries were a career and franchise high and tied for the second-most carries in a game in NFL history. 
     
  • Jacksonville’s Fred Taylor rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in the Jaguars’ 28-23 win over Indianapolis.  Taylor’s second score, a 32-yard touchdown, provided the game-winning points.
     
  • San Diego’s LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in the Chargers’ 42-28 win over Minnesota.  Tomlinson ranks third in the league with 942 yards rushing.
