Flutie, in his first start of the season, completed 21 of 29 attempts for 248 yards and two touchdowns for a 121.0 passer rating and rushed for 18 yards and two scores. Tomlinson rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in the Chargers’ 42-28 win over Minnesota. Tomlinson ranks third in the league with 942 yards rushing. Flutie and Tomlinson were selected from among finalists in air and ground categories, and are the first teammates to win the FedEx Air & Ground Awards in the same week. The other FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week finalists were Minnesota Vikings quarterback DAUNTE CULPEPPER and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback TRENT GREEN, while Cincinnati Bengals running back RUDI JOHNSON and Jacksonville Jaguars running back FRED TAYLOR were the other finalists for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week.
