Quarterbacks JAY FIEDLER of the Miami Dolphins, MATT HASSELBECK of the Seattle Seahawks, and KORDELL STEWART of the Chicago Bears are the finalists for FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on November 27, 30-December 1, while running backs MARSHALL FAULK of the St. Louis Rams, PRIEST HOLMES of the Kansas City Chiefs and CLINTON PORTIS of the Denver Broncos are the finalists for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week honors, the NFL announced today.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from Tuesday morning through noon on Thursday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week.  The FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week will be announced Thursday on NFL.com and Friday in USA Today.

A closer look at the FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • Miami’s Jay Fiedler completed 16 of 20 attempts for 239 yards and three touchdowns for a 156.0 passer rating in the Dolphins’ 40-21 Thanksgiving Day win over Dallas.  Fiedler also rushed for a one-yard score.
     
  • Seattle’s Matt Hasselbeck completed 26 of 35 attempts for 328 yards and three touchdowns for a 119.7 passer rating in the Seahawks’ 34-7 win over Cleveland.  
     
  • Chicago’s Kordell Stewart completed 22 of 37 attempts for 284 yards and two touchdowns for a 101.6 passer rating in the Bears’ 28-3 win over Arizona.  Stewart also rushed for 26 yards and a score on five carries.  

A closer look at the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • St. Louis’ Marshall Faulk rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries in the Rams’ 48-17 win over Minnesota.  Faulk has rushed for 311 yards with a 5.1-yard average and four touchdowns in the past three games and moved up to fifth on the NFL career touchdown list (127) with his three touchdowns, passing Pro Football Hall of Fame running backs Jim Brown and Walter Payton.
     
  • Kansas City’s Priest Holmes rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries in the Chiefs’ 28-24 win over San Diego.  Holmes leads the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns.
     
  • Denver’s Clinton Portis rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 34 carries in the Broncos’ 22-8 win over Oakland.  Portis ranks second in the AFC with 1,234 yards rushing.
