SEAHAWKS HOLD OFF 49ERS ON SUNDAY NIGHT

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the NFC West division-rival San Francisco 49ers 20-19 on Sunday night in Seattle.  After jumping to a 17-0 lead, the Seahawks allowed the 49ers to move ahead 19-17 late in the fourth quarter before regaining the lead for good on a JOSH BROWN 37-yard field goal with 3:04 remaining.

QB MATT HASSELBECK led Seattle to its fast start, completing 17 of 27 passes for 207 yards with a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Itula Mili.  RB SHAUN ALEXANDER carried 22 times for 77 yards while FB MACK STRONG had a 21-yard touchdown run.

San Francisco QB JEFF GARCIA brought his team back from their 17-0 deficit, throwing for 168 yards while completing 16 of 27 passes.  Garcia also ran for a 2-yard touchdown to bring the 49ers to within one.  RB GARRISON HEARST carried 16 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

At 4-1, the Seahawks take host the Chicago Bears in Week 7.  The 2-4 49ers host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
