October 6, 2003 BROWNS TOP STEELERS IN ONE OF NFL’S GREATEST RIVALRIES The Cleveland Browns, behind a strong first-half effort by QB TIM COUCH, defeated the AFC North division-rival Steelers 33-13 on Sunday night in Pittsburgh. Couch completed touchdown passes of six and nine yards to WRs ANDRE DAVIS and KEVIN JOHNSON respectively within the first 18 minutes of the game. The Browns quarterback then ran nine yards for a touchdown just before halftime to give Cleveland a 23-10 lead at intermission. Browns CB DAYLON MC CUTCHEON intercepted Pittsburgh QB TOMMY MADDOX and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown early in the third quarter, giving Cleveland a 30-10 lead that it would not relinquish. On the night, the Browns defense recorded two interceptions and three sacks. Cleveland, now 2-3, hosts the Oakland Raiders in Week 6, while the 2-3 Steelers travel to Denver to face the Broncos. |
