October 14, 2003 RAMS SHUTOUT FALCONS AT HOME ON MONDAY NIGHT The St. Louis Rams defeated the Atlanta Falcons 36-0 on Monday night in St. Louis, giving the Rams their first home shutout since 1993, when they played in Anaheim. QB MARC BULGER led St. Louis’ offensive attack, throwing for 352 yards and two touchdowns and running for another score. WR TORRY HOLT caught eleven passes, including both touchdowns, for 161 yards, while RB LAMAR GORDON carried 19 times for 92 yards. The Rams defense was stellar all night long, beginning with an interception by S AENEAS WILLIAMS in the endzone in the first quarter and ending with a 74-yard interception return for a touchdown by CB TRAVIS FISHER with less than two minutes remaining in the game. The Rams finished the game with three sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. St. Louis, now 3-2, hosts Green Bay in Week 7, while the 1-5 Falcons host New Orleans. |
