GREEN BAY HANDS CHICAGO 38-23 DEFEAT AT NEW SOLDIER FIELD

On Monday night, the Green Bay Packers defeated their oldest rivals, the Chicago Bears, 38-23 in the first game played at the newly-renovated Soldier Field in Chicago.

Green Bay RB AHMAN GREEN got the Packers started, scoring on a 60-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-0 early in the first quarter.  Green added a six-yard touchdown run at the end of the quarter and finished with 176 yards on 19 carries.

Packers QB BRETT FAVRE moved ahead of Dan Fouts into fifth place on the career passing yards list with 43,089 on a night when he completed 21 of 30 passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns.

Chicago RB ANTHONY THOMAS carried 13 times for 110 yards and one touchdown in a losing effort, while QB KORDELL STEWART threw for 201 yards and ran for 71 yards and one touchdown.
