FAVRE LEADS PACKERS PAST RAIDERS ON MONDAY NIGHT

In a game that the Green Bay Packers needed to win in order to control their playoff destiny, QB BRETT FAVRE stepped up to lead his team to a 41-7 victory over the Oakland Raiders in Oakland Monday night.

Favre put on a masterful show, completing 22 of 30 passes to twelve different receivers for 399 yards and four touchdowns, all in the first half.  WR JAVON WALKER caught two touchdown passes as part of his four catches for 124 yards, and RB AHMAN GREEN carried 24 times for 127 yards and one touchdown.

Oakland RB CHARLIE GARNER scored on a 25-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter to cut Green Bay’s lead to 14-7, but that was all the scoring the Raiders would manage.  WR JERRY RICE caught 10 passes for 159 yards in the losing effort.

With the win, Green Bay improved to 9-6 and can earn a playoff berth and even a NFC North title with a win at home against Denver in Week 17.
