PACKERS DEFEAT VIKINGS IN METRODOME

The Green Bay Packers defeated the NFC North division-rival Minnesota Vikings 30-27 on Sunday night in the Metrodome in Minneapolis.  With the win, Green Bay improves to 4-4 while Minnesota now stands at 6-2.

Despite playing with a broken thumb, Packers QB BRETT FAVRE threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns in leading his team to victory for just the third time in the past 12 games in the Vikings’ domed stadium.  RB AHMAN GREEN caught one of Favre’s touchdown passes as one of his five receptions for 55 yards.  Green also carried 21 times for 137 yards.  WR JAVON WALKER caught three passes for 42 yards including two 12-yard touchdowns.

Minnesota QB DAUNTE CULPEPPER completed 21 of 34 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the losing effort.  WR RANDY MOSS had six catches for 87 yards with a 43-yard touchdown reception.

Green Bay hosts the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night in Week 10 while Minnesota travels to San Diego looking to return to the win column.
