December 2, 2003 JETS END TITANS' WIN STREAK, 24-17 The Tennessee Titans walked into Giants Stadium riding a six-game win streak, but the New York Jets sent them away with a 24-17 loss on Monday night. Jets QB CHAD PENNINGTON completed 18 of 23 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns to lead New York and keep the Jets slim playoff hopes alive. RB CURTIS MARTIN ran for 67 yards and his first touchdown of the season, and WRs CURTIS CONWAY and KEVIN SWAYNE caught touchdown passes in the victory. Titans QB STEVE MC NAIR playing with a strained right calf muscle, threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort. WR DERRICK MASON caught 10 passes for 133 yards and one touchdown, while WR JUSTIN MC CAREINS had five catches for 92 yards and one touchdown. With the win, the Jets improve to 5-7 as they prepare for a trip to Buffalo to face the Bills next Sunday. Tennessee, at 9-3, hosts the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, the team they are tied with atop the AFC South. |
