Week #12 Nominees
Santana Moss, WR -
New York
Jets - Game-winning three-yard touchdown reception from
Chad
Pennington
The Jets
speedy wide receiver caps a 12-play, 94-yard drive by making a leaping
game-winning three-yard touchdown catch on a fade route in the corner of the
end-zone with 26 seconds remaining. The leaping touchdown grab from Chad
Pennington gave the Jets a 13-10 come-from-behind win over the Jaguars.
Moss has now caught at least one touchdown in the last eight games. This is
the second time this season Moss and Pennington have completed a pass for a
NFL Play of the Week - Presented by LEVITRA - nominee (week 10
against Oakland).
Justin McCareins, WR - Tennessee Titans - 58-yard punt-return
touchdown
Last week's NFL Play
of the Week - Presented by LEVITRA - award winner gives the Titans their
first lead of the day erasing a 21-point deficit on a 58-yard punt-return
touchdown. McCareins also scored on a 14-yard reception and finished the
game with four receptions for 72 yards. With the 38-31 win over the
Falcons, the Titans kept pace with the 9-2 Colts for a share of the AFC
South lead.
Ed Reed, S - Baltimore Ravens - Blocked punt and 16-yard touchdown
return
The only player to be
nominated for the NFL Play of the Week - Presented by LEVITRA - for
blocking a punt and returning the block for a touchdown this season does it
again by blocking a Tom Rouen punt in the third quarter against the
Seahawks. Reed's blocked punt and 16-yard touchdown return fueled a
17-point second half come-from-behind 44-41 overtime win.
Daniel Graham, TE - New
England Patriots - Four-yard touchdown reception from Tom Brady to force
overtime
The
Patriots tight end caps a nine-play, 80-yard drive late in the fourth
quarter by catching a Tom Brady touchdown pass to force overtime. Graham's
clutch touchdown put the Patriots in position to win the game in overtime on
Adam Vinatieri’s game-winning 28-yard field goal. Graham finished the game
with four catches for 53 yards in the Patriots’ 23-20 win in Houston.
Dre Bly, CB - Detroit
Lions - Forced fumble, fumble recovery and lateral to Corey Harris for a
35-yard touchdown
The Lions veteran cornerback
stops Vikings running back Moe Williams for a one-yard loss, strips the ball
away and returns the fumble to the Vikings 35-yard line before pitching the
ball to Corey Harris for a 35-yard touchdown return that tied the game at
seven. Despite Bly’s effort the Lions lost 24-14.
