Week #4 Nominees

David Carr, QB - Houston Texans - Game winning 1-yard touchdown dive

With two seconds remaining, trailing the Jacksonville Jaguars by three, the Texans’ second-year quarterback dove 1-yard over a pile of defenders to score the game-winning touchdown as time expired. Carr completed 23-of-36 attempts for 234 yards and a touchdown as well as the game-winning score on the ground.   The 24-20 win upped the Texans’ record to 2-2.

Dante Hall, KR - Kansas City Chiefs - 97-yard kickoff return-touchdown

With 5:08 left in the fourth quarter of a tie game against the Baltimore Ravens, Dante Hall answers the Ravens’ game-tying score with a 97-yard kickoff-return touchdown. The return proved to be the game-winning score putting the Chiefs up 17-10.  Dante Hall has now tallied a return-touchdown in an NFL record three straight games and has scored a special-teams touchdown in six of his last nine games.    The Chiefs special teams standout was also a NFL Play of the Week - Presented By Levitra nominee in week two.

Roy Williams, S - Dallas Cowboys - Forced fumble

With the Cowboys clinging to a four point lead and the Jets in the midst of a long scoring drive the Cowboys second-year safety catches Jets running back Curtis Martin from behind at the 11-yard line and punches the ball loose thwarting a potential 20-yard go-ahead touchdown run.  Williams' teammate Darren Woodson recovered the ball in the end zone to preserve the Cowboys lead.

Marvin Harrison, WR - Indianapolis Colts - 14-yard touchdown reception from Peyton Manning

Half way through the first quarter, leading the New Orleans Saints 7-0, quarterback Peyton Manning throws a 14-yard touchdown to Marvin Harrison who tips the ball to himself and keeps his feet in bounds for the score.  Harrison’s catch helped fuel the Colts to a 55-21 road win over the Saints upping the Colts record to a perfect 4-0.  Harrison caught six passes for 158 yards three touchdowns and was also a NFL Play of the Week - Presented By Levitra nominee in week two.

Charlie Garner, RB - Oakland Raiders – 24-yard touchdown run

With the Chargers ahead 31-24 late in the fourth quarter, Raiders running back Charlie Garner caps off an impressive late-game drive by rushing 24-yards for the game-tying touchdown.  The score enabled the Raiders to win the game 34-31 in overtime on a 46-yard field goal and improved the defending AFC Champion’s record to 2-2 on the season.   Garner finished the afternoon with 70 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
