CANDIDATES FOR PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF WEEK HONORS

Fans To Vote For Winner On NFL.com

Linebacker BOSS BAILEY of the Detroit Lions, wide receiver ANQUAN BOLDIN of the Arizona Cardinals, running back DOMANICK DAVIS of the Houston Texans, quarterback BYRON LEFTWICH of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and linebacker PISA TINOISAMOA of the St. Louis Rams are the finalists for PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK honors for games played on November 9-10, the NFL announced today. 

Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com from Tuesday morning until 9:00 AM ET Thursday to determine the PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK.  The PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK will be announced Thursday on NFL.com.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors.  Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January.  The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston.

A closer look at the finalists:

  • Detroit’s Boss Bailey recorded seven tackles, half a sack and defensed two passes in the Lions’ 12-10 win over Chicago.  Bailey has started every game this season for Detroit.  
     
  • Arizona’s Anquan Boldin caught eight passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals’ 28-15 loss to Pittsburgh.  Boldin leads all NFL rookies with 56 receptions for 790 yards and four touchdowns.
     
  • Houston’s Domanick Davis rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in the Texans’ 34-27 loss to Cincinnati.  Davis leads all rookies with 587 yards rushing and has rushed for 416 yards over his last four games.   
     
  • Jacksonville’s Byron Leftwich completed 12 of 22 attempts for 179 yards and a touchdown for a 96.6 passer rating, and rushed for six yards and a score on three carries, in the Jaguars’ 28-23 win over Indianapolis.
     
  • St. Louis’ Pisa Tinoisamoa recorded nine tackles and forced a fumble in St. Louis’ 33-22 win over Baltimore.  Tinoisamoa leads all NFL linebackers with four forced fumbles.
