CANDIDATES FOR PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF WEEK HONORS

Fans To Vote For Winner On NFL.com

Wide receiver ANQUAN BOLDIN of the Arizona Cardinals, linebacker LANCE BRIGGS of the Chicago Bears, running back DOMANICK DAVIS of the Houston Texans, linebacker PISA TINOISAMOA of the St. Louis Rams, and cornerback MARCUS TRUFANT of the Seattle Seahawks are the finalists for PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK honors for games played on November 2-3, the NFL announced today. 

Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com from Tuesday morning until 9:00 AM ET Thursday to determine the PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK.  The PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK will be announced Thursday on NFL.com.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors.  Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January.  The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston.

A closer look at the finalists:

  • Arizona’s Anquan Boldin caught six passes for 51 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals’ 17-14 win over Cincinnati.  Boldin leads all NFL rookies with 48 receptions for 672 yards and three touchdowns.  
     
  • Chicago’s Lance Briggs recorded a team-high 10 tackles in the Bears’ 20-7 win over San Diego.
     
  • Houston’s Domanick Davis rushed for 74 yards on 12 carries in the Texans’ 14-10 win over Carolina.  Davis leads all rookies with 483 yards rushing and has rushed for 312 yards over his last three games.   
     
  • St. Louis’ Pisa Tinoisamoa recorded eight tackles, his first career interception and defensed a pass in St. Louis’ 30-10 loss to San Francisco.  Tinoisamoa’s interception was the first play of the fourth quarter and led to the Rams only touchdown of the day.
     
  • Seattle’s Marcus Trufant recorded eight tackles and defensed two passes in the Seahawks’ 23-16 win over Pittsburgh.

This is Pepsi’s second year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL.
