NFL.COM VOTERS SELECT TEXANS RB DOMANICK DAVIS

AS PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
FOR RECORD THIRD CONSECUTIVE WEEK

Voters on NFL.com have made their choice.  Running back DOMANICK DAVIS of the Houston Texans is the PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for games played on November 2-3, the NFL announced today.

Davis rushed for 74 yards on 12 carries in the Texans’ 14-10 win over Carolina.  He leads all rookies with 483 yards rushing and has rushed for 312 yards in his last three games

More than 23,000 fans voted this week on NFL.com.  Davis, who was selected from among five finalists, is the first player to win the award in three consecutive weeks.  The other finalists were Arizona Cardinals wide receiver ANQUAN BOLDIN, Chicago Bears linebacker LANCE BRIGGS, St. Louis Rams linebacker PISA TINOISAMOA and Seattle Seahawks cornerback MARCUS TRUFANT.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors.  Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January.  The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston.

This is Pepsi’s second year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL.
