FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 20, 2004 NFL PRESS BOX NOTES – WEEK 7 UNBEATEN HISTORY: When the New York Jets (5-0) travel to Foxboro, Massachusetts to play the New England Patriots (5-0) this week, it will mark only the fourth time in NFL history that two unbeaten teams with at least five wins apiece have faced each other.A win for New England would set the NFL record for most consecutive regular season victories (18), surpassing the 1933-34 Chicago Bears (17). It would add to the Patriots’ unprecedented streak of 20 consecutive regular season and playoff wins. If the Jets upend the Patriots, it would mark the first 6-0 start in Jets history and give them sole possession of first place in the AFC East for the first time since Week 10 of 2001. The Jets were the last team to defeat the Patriots at Gillette Stadium (30-17 on December 22, 2002). There is more than national interest in the game. It also will be shown live on Sunday in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports Xtra at 9:00 PM UK time. The list of all games played between unbeaten teams with at least five wins apiece:
